Most Immediate
General Ashfaq Parvez Kayani,
Chief of Army Staff, Pakistan Army,
General Headquarters, Rawalpindi.
Dear
I hope you
are fine. I request you to give me just one minute for reading this please.
Both the
Political and the Military Leadership have to answer the following questions
posed by people of Pakistan in connection of the blatant military operation
conducted by US Forces against Osama bin Laden near PMA Kakul, Abbotabad, on 02
May 2011:
(1) Is
Pakistan a sovereign and an independent Country or has it been subjugated
already by USA ? Why USA is not demanded
to submit a written and public apology
for violating our sovereignty and
committing murders? Why logistic support to them
is still continuing through Pakistan? Is
USA our friend or the worst enemy? When
shall
we wake up to this stark reality?
(2) Why
the Pak Army and the PAF failed to react effectively to an open aggression
against Pakistan by USA? Why the ground
troops did not kill the attackers? Why
were the helicopters not shot down? So what
if we had lost the planes in the air
during the dog fight? We have taken oath
for the same, isn’t it?
(3) Why
ISI, IB and Police failed to detect the presence of Osama in Pakistan? ISI gave
clue of his message courier to Americans
and then went to sleep, is it so?
(4) Why
are we spending almost half of our annual national budget on our Armed
Forces and intelligent agencies if they
cannot deliver in times of our dire need?
(5) What
happened to solemn assurances of COAS to Pakistani Nation of asking it “to
trust Pak Army in defending Pakistan till
last” just few days back in PMA and talking
of “no development at the cost of our
honor” on Yaum-e-Shohada (30 Apr)? Were
all those lies and hollow slogans?
(6) After
this grand and clear failure, should Pakistanis have any more trust on you: the
COAS, the CAS, the DG ISI, the President and
PM of Pakistan for defending
Pakistan and protecting the people of
Pakistan?
(7) Will
the COAS, the CAS and the DG ISI resign immediately for their utter failure to
defend Pakistan and then face the worst
consequences?
(8) Why
has the COAS virtually taken over the country and started handling Pakistan’s
Defence Policy and Foreign Policy? Is it
martial law again on the quiet? Where was
the PM along with his cabinet and the
President of Pakistan along with his cronies in
the time of this national crisis? Are
they meant to do the looting only? Why is Pak
Army protecting such incompetent,
characterless and corrupt leaders? Is our 1973
Constitution above Quran and Pakistan?
Where should our people go then?
(9) Why
the Nation is being kept in dark by both political as well as military
leadership
about this very serious violation of our
national sovereignty and defence? How this
National Emergency was handled? The
President was seen giving oath as usual,
the PM left the country on a trivial
visit. The COAS kept quiet for days. Is this the
way
you lead and defend us? Isn’t it clear cut cowardice on the part of
all our
leaders?
(10) Will we not be looked down upon now by the
entire world? What a shame?
Why Pakistan has been humiliated once
again? What if ours is declared as a
terrorist state and then attacked
through all means for destroying it? What if our
nuclear and economic assets are
attacked?
Are our nuclear assets in our control
in the first place ? We have reason to
doubt it now indeed.
(11) Will the present Chief of the Armed Forces
(the President), the PM, the COAS, the
CAS, the DGISI and other senior officers
in the chain be ready for trial under the
laws of the land for failure to do their
constitutional and national duties of defending
and protecting Pakistan ?
No one can
hide and get away any more. The above and hundreds of more questions have to be
answered. The case of deceitful release of Raymond Davis is still fresh in
every body’s mind. Osama’s killing by foreign troops deep inside Pakistan is
the latest. The hypocrisy and
character-failing are destroying us. People now have genuine doubts about the
competence and commitment of our leadership, about our defence and intelligence
capabilities. These cannot be ignored any more. We feel totally unsafe and
condemned as a Nation. Let us not repeat the history of East Pakistan. The
earlier we put the house in order, the better it would be. I guess some major
changes are now overdue. Some heads must be rolling; yes ruthless accountability
is a must now.
Sir, please speak out and convince the Nation
that the above questions are ill-founded and totally wrong. Present the facts
as they are to convince us all and take exemplary punitive actions. ISPR
releases will not do. Salman’s words are meaningless. Otherwise, all of you may
resign and face the consequences please.
We are in
a state of shock and disbelief. Allah may grant us the courage and character to
speak the truth, defend Pakistan and its people! Allah may bless us all ! Ameen !
With best
regards,
Yours
Sincerely,
Brig ( R) Muhammad Ali.
